Leroy Sirasit van Halen (born 1995) is a Paris based Dutch fashion designer. During his studies at the renowned fashion department in Arnhem (NL), he started working for different international fashion labels settling from 2020 hybrid in both Paris and his native village Maasbommel in the Dutch country side. After having waited for almost a decade since his first introduction to fashion, he finally started his own brand in the summer of 2023.

The main questions facing Leroy in his work are “Who?”, “To whom?” and “With whom?”. Although much of the process is done autonomously, the presence of the other with whom to discuss, reflect, or simply spend time takes centerer stage in the meaning of the design. Contexts matter, in an ontological way they engrave themselves into the essence of the design – rendering the function of the designer to a semi-sentient seismograph of contexts and relations.  

VAN HALEN’s work combines the occident and the orient both in a symbolic and literal way. It combines influences from all over the world – collected from Leroy’s memories and relations. Influences from Japan, Los Angeles, the Italian Alps, Paris, Rotterdam, and Maasbommel, accumulate into something that both does and doesn’t belong anywhere. To be worn at home, where ever that might be – to be home.
